Introduction

As with most of my trips, the one to Morocco was completely unplanned. I did yearn for some sunshine in the bleak November days - so I jumped on a plane to sunny Malaga in the south of Spain, in Andalusia. I rented a bike there and found myself cycling through some amazing roller-coaster rides through wonderful Spanish towns such as Frigiliano, Antiquera and Ronda. I then reached the coastal town of Algeciras late one afternoon and saw a huge port and ferry terminal. A ship was about to leave for Tangier in northern Morocco in 30 minutes - and without knowing anything about the country, I literally jumped on it. So it was that I arrived in the late evening of Thursday, November 25, without having any idea of what was to follow. This is the story of my trip - I hope you will enjoy reading through it just as much as I loved biking through this magical country.
